Episode Se7en

Hahahahahahaha… you see what I did?  Ha!  I’m writing this at one in the morn’, and I am a late night noob.  You guys don’t care bout that none, I bet.  You guys care about getting to the links!  You can find this episode (not right away) in the EPISODE ARCHIVE or just watch it below (and afterwards, be a doll and read the commentary after or while you watch.)

Oh, guys… I wish I could tell you about all the personal shit that happened behind the scenes.  I truly wish I could, but it was like DEEP deep stuff.  Stuff that belongs not in this setting.  Instead I’ll tell you that as a person I have a much stronger resolve after this.  Trust me, it’s as hardcore as I’m alluding to.

As far as the actors go, yet another new character!  Great job as Uncle Dan, Matt!  I swear I’ll update the cast page soon to get you in there but… god help me, Matt… I am dog tired.  Sometimes this weekend though.  I really liked this episode because the gang is all here.  I meant to do this only with this episode, but I actually really like this format, and I plan on using a similar one through out the rest of the series (in a way I think you guys will like too.)

You might notice that I’m writing sporadically, so excuse me as I just let it all out for one sentence.  Sweet sassy molassy cats and kittens fly space ships to outer rim territories on Tuesdays.

Moving on, you might notice the stumble upon dealio at the end of this and the other episode posts.  If you could be a dear, could you click on that after you’re done?  It helps me out AND it makes me smile… both are things I’d assume you like happening.

Episode Seis

Oh!  You weren’t expecting Spanish, were you?  This is me, keeping you on your toes.  You should always stay on your toes…  I’m just saying, it’s not 100% for sure that dinosaurs are as extinct as you think they are.  As usual, you can find this episode in the EPISODE ARCHIVE as well as the fact that you can watch it below as well as read the commentary below the video.

Other titles that could have worked for this episode:

  1. “The Episode Where Billo Discovers How to Use Color Filters”
  2. “The Episode Where Billo procrastinates too long on writing a script, so instead falls back on a dream episode”
  3. “The Episode Where Billo Wears a Silly Hat”
  4. “The Episode with a Noticeable Lack of Narrator”

But, I like the one we settles with.  I think “The Dream” rolls off the tongue better than #5, “The Episode Where Erica Accidentally Deleted All the Footage, So They Had to Start Over Again At The End of Filming the First Time”

To all those who edit film out there, don’t you just fucking hate it when you lose shit when you’re almost done?  Don’t give me that “Save every two seconds” bullshit… I’m a human being.  Check that, I’m a human being that is forgetful.  When I’m editing, I’m in the editing zone, and saving every two seconds isn’t part of the editing zone.

What do you do?  Personally, I just grit my teeth and just start over.  When I was editing Episode 5, the laptop just inexplicably shut off.  It was hooked up, it was charged, there was no reason for it to turn off… but off is exactly how it turned.  And, knowing that I still wanted to make the Saturday morning deadline, I just redid it.  It’s a necessary evil.

To all of those who are sharing CT with your friends and getting us out there, thank you.  I truly appreciate it.  Thanks for reading.

PS The upload on youtube failed during the night, so that was awesome.  For me, with Pacific timezone, it’s still gonna be Saturday morning when it goes up.  For you guys with Central and Eastern time that are OCD about schedules, I apologize.  Not so much about the episode, but more so about your crippling OCD.

PPS We were mentioned in this week’s “Vlog-a-Log w/ Jordan Krumbine”.  It’s after a pretty awesome Star Wars chat.  At 11:15, if you wanted to put it on the calender.

A sneak peak for Episode 6.  It involves this face.  It’s up to YOU, the imaginative fan, to piece it all together and guess what it could all be about!

Oh Thank GOD

Remember that SCARE (<= For those of you who don’t read this regularly, the all caps usually means a link) we had a few days back?  Yeah… turns out it was no big thing.  Like… at all.  As I predicted, the 0 days this popped up, and I simply clicked “Continue Trial” and badabing, it was all good.

Now you’re probably thinking, “Whatever, Billo.  You knew it was a trial!  You knew your days would soon be up!”

Well, au contraire… it was a PIRATED version of Adobe Premiere.  So, in theory, it was supposed to be permanent.  I just suck at pirating.  So… there that is.  WHAT PIRACY?!  THERE IS NO PIRACY TO BE FOUND HERE

In other news, did you guys hear the other news?  In case you haven’t, our gift shop was advertised on IWatchStuff.com

Click the picture for a larger version

I’d like to think that’s a pretty big deal, and in all honesty it kind of is.  In fact, this whole day is pretty good so far.  It’s a nice change of pace.

Episode 5 is HERE!

And How!  This episode introduces Mark (Mike Miersen) and Steve (Eric Morrison).  In a bit here I’ll update the CAST PAGE to get Eric in there, but in the mean time you can find the episode in the EPISODE ARCHIVE and also down below.  But don’t forget the commentary!  There’s important news down there.

Commentary is as follows.  We have a situation, guys.  As you know if you’ve read the FAQ, I use Adobe Premiere Pro to edit the episodes.  No big deal, right?  What if I told you it was a big deal?  What if I told you it was a big deal because of the following…

Yup, three days.  NOW DON’T GET WORRIED JUST YET!  I don’t know if it’s DONE done after three days.  It glitched before and said I had 0 days left, and I said continue trial… and it asked me for my Adobe Account, I provided it, I got to continue.  Maybe that’ll happen again.  Let’s hold on to that hope… let’s live in that world for a few seconds.  It’s a pretty world here, lots of trees… is that a marshmallow bunny?  It sure is.

Back to reality, where marshmallow bunnies don’t exist and the trees are lies.  I dunno if that’s what is going to happen.  For all I know, after three days my editing software will be gone.  This is bad news for me, because I have a lot of future episodes planned.  Worst case scenario, I’ll have to take a break from this for a while, work on real life, and then come back to it after I’ve bought the program.  We’ll all see.

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

Okay guys, so while I’m shopping around you guys can help ol’ Billo out.  Click HERE to go to the Blip.tv page (There’s a download option down at the bottom) and, if you’d be so kind, put the advert on your youtube or blogspot or facebook or wherever you can, you guys.  Let’s all get this ball rolling and get this somewhere, huh?

In all seriousness, guys.  If you don’t feel comfortable doing this then really, you don’t have to.  This is just for people who want to volunteer and help out the series.  But it will only work if you want it to work, because I only want it to work if you guys want it to work.  Thanks either way, you guys.

Youtube’s Gonna Have to Share

Well, as of today, I’ve decided to shop around for websites that might like to feature “Critical Times”.  Youtube is awesome, I’ve always thought so and I always will, but I’m not an idiot and non-idiots know that youtube alone isn’t going to accomplish shit.  I SAID SHIT, folks.

So far, I’ve decided to try my luck at Cracked.com.  Check out my forum post on their forum posting place http://www.cracked.com/forums/topic/74832/a-webseries-about-movie-critic21-what-this21

I dunno if Cracked.com will even want the series.  I, like every director, can’t tell if my work is good because I’m so self critical that I could never tell if it’s actually bad or if I just think it’s bad.  BUT ALL OF YOUR COMMENTS SAY IT IS GOOD.  So, with your comments giving me flight, I will try my hardest.  If Cracked.com doesn’t want it, well then I guess I’ll keep looking, but I REALLY REALLY want Cracked.com to want it.

     I’m so desperate, you guys

A Little Fanfare for 4

And a day AFTER the episode went live on the youtube channel, it’s finally on the tumblr.  Seriously folks, if you’re reading this without being subscribed on the youtube, click the capitalized words in this sentence, those words would be THESE WORDS.  And, seriously, you know that the episode and the commentary is below.

Well guys, this is the last time we’ll see Liz for a while.  Let us have a moment of silence.

We good on the moment of silence, now?  Alright, carrying on.  So, we finally get to introduce Dori.  This is good, because up until this episode we’ve had to hide her so that she’s not in the shot.  Now she can be in whatever shot she wants to be and we can just let it happen.  It’s a lot less hassle, trust me.

In other news, it was Erica’s birthday when this episode went up!  She’s one year older, another year wiser, another year bitterer… somethin’ like that.  Anyway, for her birthday her mother took us to the Hilton Hotel on the Las Vegas strip!  When pictures are available I’ll post one.  Until then, picture it being awesome.  Because it was.

Episode 3? You Wanna Know About Episode 3?

Aight, y’all.  Well lemme tell you about Episode 3.  It’s live on Youtube, which means, GUESS WHAT, it’s in the EPISODE ARCHIVE (c’mon folks, no need to tell you at this point that when something is all caps it’s more than likely a link, unless I’m messing with you, but c’mon I’m human)

And I’d be a liar if I didn’t say that the episode could also be watched below.

Commentary is as follows.  I grew a beard for this episode.  In case you guys were not aware, beards feel so very gross on your face (unless you’re in to that sort of thing, in which case you might or might not be homeless and reading this from the library)

Apart from that this episode was pretty easy to edit.  It was basically a few shots that were just spliced and matched within their dialogue… nothing too major.  In other words, a pretty boring behind-the-scenes.  Sorry, we’ll have more drama next time.

[Flash 10 is required to watch video]

This is a sneak peak of tomorrow’s episode.  In it, you get to hear a cryptic message about movies.  WHAT COULD THIS MEAN?!

Oh, and that’s what I look like with facial hair.  I’m sure at least ONE of you was wondering.
